Backworks Clinic Statement Regarding COVID-19

Staff Health:

  • At this moment none of the staff at Backworks are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.

Hygiene:

  • We will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment as recommended by Public Health England (Scrubs, disposable gloves, disposable aprons, masks and visors).
  • Practitioners are washing their hands between every patient, and at least once an hour otherwise.
  • Hand sanitiser is available for everyone’s use and patient use is a requirement of treatment.
  • All sections of the bench and all seating are sanitised between every patient.
  • All hard surfaces in the treatment areas and communal areas are sanitised between every patient as appropriate.
  • All commonly handled items (door handles, keyboard etc.) are disinfected where needed between every patient.
  • Payments will be taken over the phone, by bank transfer or as a bare minimum via contactless – no cash will be handled in the clinic until further notice.
  • All patients will be required to bring face masks to wear for the duration of their appointments

Distancing:

  • All Practitioners are adhering to strict social distancing outside of work and in the clinic.
  • Patient and practitioner chairs have been placed 2m apart from each other.
  • Intervals between patient appointments have been increased to avoid patient interaction and to allow for extra cleaning measures.

High-risk:

  • Those in the “shielding” group who have been asked to self-isolate cannot be offered face-to-face care.
  • Patients should not attend any appointment If they are presenting with any symptoms, or if they have attended or worked in any environment that treats COVID-19 patients in the last 14-21 days, or if they have come into contact with anyone suspected of having COVID-19 in the last 14-21 days.

COVID-19:

  • This virus appears to be spreading easily, and is thought to spread mainly from person to person through people who are in close contact with one another (within about 2m) or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Whilst it is currently thought that people are most contagious when they are symptomatic some spread might be possible before people show symptoms.

Ultimately at Backworks we are doing all that we reasonably can to minimise risk whilst remaining open. However, we cannot eliminate risk completely, especially as those showing no symptoms might spread COVID-19.
